Happy Leap Day! So with the spirit of Leap Day, we're leaping forward from December to now to see the progress of the office. The changes are amazing and the functionality of the space is perfect. Jake has really put himself into the details, plenty of craftsmen talent has gone into the woodwork and finishes.

The Brooklyn Flea

An off shoot of SMMS Design called Quarry Road Vintage will be showcasing our antique goods at "The Flea" on March 10th and 11th.  This markets site is housed at the former Williamsburg Savings Bank.  It's worth a visit just to see the gorgeous landmark interior.  There are more than 100 vendors that line the former teller windows on the ground floor, secret rooms on the upstairs mezzanine, and the original bank vault on the lower level. Some of our hand picked items are shown here and come from the many farm houses and estates in the beautiful Hudson Valley.

SMMS Jewelry Around Town

The Circle W Market is a unique grocery store offering fine foods and homemade meals while also providing handpicked antique and handcrafted items.  The location is at the foot of Hunter Mountain in the Kaaterskill Clove.  Over the Holiday season SMMS Design jewelry and cards were available there, what resonated with the people in the beautiful Catskill area were the more natural designs, with use of nuts and seeds. The pea pod necklace was a real favorite.

Juluka Yoga Studio is a warm, non-competitive atmosphere, where you are encouraged and guided to take your practice forward on its exciting path. It is located in the heart of Bergen County, in Hillsdale, NJ. Juluka Yoga Studio was conceived by a strong desire to provide more yoga opportunity for the growing number of practicing yogis and yoginis in the area. Owner and Head Teacher of Juluka Yoga, Mandy Grant, graciously displays our jewelry at the studio. Crystal necklaces and sterling silver pieces are among the favorites of the yogis.

IDS12: Interior Design Show Jan.26-29, 2012 Toronto

Last Thursday along with Jake, Catskill Coydogs Principal, SMMS Design traveled up to the Great White North to attend Trade Day at IDS12 Toronto. We saw some amazing new products, finishes and interior layouts set to launch this upcoming year from many of the top interior retailers and product designers. The highlight of the show were the engaging speakers, Matali Crasset of Matali Crasset Productions, Paris and Bjarke Ingels of BIG Architects, Copenhagen/NY.
